'Who looks outside, dreams;
who looks inside, awakes'

About me

My name is Liz. I am a qualified counsellor with an FdA in Counselling. I work pluralistically, meaning I draw upon different modalities within my work.

Sometimes life feels too much and you just need someone to talk to, someone who isn't closely involved in your life and who really listens to what you are saying, and possibly more importantly, what you are not saying.

With care and empathy I promote your autonomy and hope to empower you in your life. Providing space for you to be yourself and explore whatever it is you need. I whole heartedly believe that the therapeutic relationship is of paramount importance therefore I offer a safe, non-judgemental, confidential and accepting environment where you can feel seen and heard.

I am a registered member of the BACP and my work is underpinned by their Ethical Framework.

Online & Telephone Therapy

I am currently only able to offer online and telephone sessions but hope to be able to offer face to face sessions soon in Hartlepool, County Durham.

Online or telephone sessions allow you to connect with me from the comfort of your own home which can help the     process feel less daunting and also allow you to fit therapy more easily into your schedule.

I offer a free 15 minute initial phone call for you to hear my voice and ask any questions you might have, please get in touch to arrange.

Practice Description

I work pluralistically, with Person-Centred therapy as my foundation. Within my practice I use CBT and Psychodynamic interventions, taking the time to understand you and what works best for you.

My experience within the charity sector, working with those affected by domestic and sexual violence, has highlighted how infrequently people really feel listened to and I believe that when we feel heard and understood we can begin to handle the difficulties of life.

I am here to help you in the way you need, working together in ways that benefit you and help you understand yourself on a deeper level. With that understanding and acceptance of ourselves I believe we can then make the changes we might be wishing for.
